About Re-Imagine Ontario (RiO)
Re-Imagine Ontario (RiO) is a registered charity based in Oakville, Ontario, dedicated to improving the health, education, and employment of vulnerable youth and seniors. RiO operates multiple community programs, including:
- G.A.M.E. – mentoring through sports and outdoor activities for vulnerable male youth.
- SeniorsOnTheGo (SOTG) – medical transportation and wellness services for seniors.
- Youth Employment Programs – job readiness and skills development.
- West of 55 Friends – an isolation and social interaction program for seniors.
- BEECH – Camp program for children
- Community Outreach & Special Events.
This summer role supports digital expansion, engagement, outreach, and technology-driven communications across all RiO programs.
Job Summary
The Digital Marketing Coordinator will support RiO’s communications, outreach, and digital presence. This position is ideal for a creative individual looking to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, social media strategy, analytics, AI-powered tools, and community outreach within a non-profit environment.
The Coordinator will help tell the story of RiO’s mission, highlight our impact, promote community programs, and support volunteer and participant recruitment through high-quality digital content.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Communications
- Develop and schedule engaging social media content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Create graphics, reels, short videos, and digital posters for RiO programs
- Write captions, news updates, and outreach posts tailored to youth, seniors, parents, and community partners
- Assist in updating the RiO website with fresh content, program info, and volunteer opportunities
- Help design digital ads or targeted campaigns to reach diverse communities
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Capture photos and short videos at RiO programs and events
- Develop human-interest stories, youth success spotlights, volunteer highlights, and program showcase materials
- Assist with newsletters, email marketing, and impact stories
Technology & AI Skills Development
The student will:
- Learn and use AI tools (e.g., Canva AI, ChatGPT, CoPilot, Adobe Express) to assist with content drafting, design, and creative workflows
- Learn digital analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics)
- Apply basic SEO techniques when updating website content
- Support digitization of RiO’s internal resources (flyers, info sheets, procedures)
Program Support (as needed)
- Assist staff in running youth and seniors programs (e.g., G.A.M.E. SOTG, JOBS, CAMP and events)
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, lists, volunteer materials, and communications
- Help with community outreach to families, youth, and senior-serving partners
Qualifications
- Must meet Canada Summer Jobs eligibility (ages 16–30)
- Strong interest in digital marketing, communications, technology, or social media
- Experience with TikTok, Instagram Reels, Canva, or similar creative tools
- Basic understanding of video editing or willingness to learn
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Comfortable photographing and filming events
- Interest in social impact, youth development, community services, or non-profit work
Assets
- Experience with AI-assisted design or content tools
- Graphic design experience
- Website content editing (WordPress, Wix, etc.)
- Experience working with youth, seniors, or community groups
- Access to equipment capable of producing content
