Summary  

(Part-time) Community Programs Manager will manage the coordination & delivery of seniors and youth programs. These is a part-time role approximately 4-6 hours weekly. Most (95%) of this role is remote, but you are required to be on location occasionally.

Re-Imagine Ontario is a registered charitable organization whose mission is to improve the health, education and employment of vulnerable individuals, with particular focus on black youth, through community networks, development opportunities, and family supports. 

 

The Role 

Your role is to manage both our youth and seniors programs to ensure development and smooth delivery. This includes maintaining service-recipients files, promoting and helping to find individuals who need our services, assisting with the planning of program and participating in program events,. Also assists in developing and delivering other new programs through collaboration, brainstorming, planning and outreach with directors & other staff and volunteers.

  • You will lead the delivery of seniors and youth activities program that seeks to provide mental health, education, and employment supports to underserved youth and friendly visiting services to seniors living in isolation or those disengaged from community, family, or friends.  
  • You will participate in managing program volunteers including their scheduling and performance, while ensuring that they adhere to policies and procedures for health & safety and risk management.   
  • You’ll identify skills development and training needs of volunteers where necessary. 
  • You will participate in meetings with community leaders who are assisting with or supporting the launch of program(s). 
  • Direct support to collaborating individuals within the organization or externally, in development of programs including activities design, execution, outreach, agreements and related budgets

Qualifications: 

  • Diploma, Certificate or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • This position requires a highly supportive and empathetic leader preferably with a background or degree in human services, mental health, community, social service environment ore equivalent preferred.  
  • Leadership experience especially with youth or seniors, or both is an asset.   
  • A member of a regulated or professional body like the Social Service Workers or equivalent is also an asset. 
  • Asset if you have not-for-profit experience. 
  • Can comfortably communicate and collaborate with diverse communities 
  • Ability to fluently speak and write in English  
  • Asset up you have lived experience in communities that we serve 
  • An asset if you live in the Halton-Peel area.
